Cycling in the Grasslands
We start cycling across vast open grassland alternated by rolling hills. We ride along distinct car tracks on predominantly packed surfaces. Along the way, you will see herds of cattle, sheep, and goats. With over 70 million livestock, animal herding remains the backbone of Mongolia’s rural economy. Certainly, we will encounter Mongolian horses that hold an important place in the nomadic culture and a dependable companion of Mongol men.
In the evening, enjoy a tent camping experience in true wilderness. Take part in a traditional Mongolian archery lesson, followed by dinner featuring a traditional stone-roasted mutton barbecue, a true taste of Mongolia.

Cycle further into the mountains, wildlife encounter in Khustai National Park
Pedal deeper into the mountains along scenic slopes, rolling hills and wide open spaces with chances for spontaneous encounters with local families. Visit their homes and sample traditional food and dairy products. A short transfer in the afternoon will bring us to another tourist ger lodge. In the evening, visit the Khustai National Park, home to the world’s only remaining population of Przewalski’s wild horses. Once extinct in the wild by the 1950s, the species was reintroduced to Mongolia in 1993 from European zoo populations. Today, several hundred wild horses, all born in Mongolia, roam freely in the park, surviving predators and harsh climatic conditions. The conservation program has also supported the recovery of red deer, Mongolian gazelles, wild sheep, and marmots. Learn about this remarkable initiative during this wildlife-watching excursion.
