Hike in the Bogd Khan Mountain, Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue visit
This morning, we visit the ruins of Manzushir Monastery at the edge of the Bogd Khan mountain range, the starting point of our hike. Before hiking, we explore the monastery complex, built in 1733 and largely destroyed in the 1930s, with the restored main temple now serving as a museum. A 3–4 hour moderate hike through forests and alpine meadows brings us to Tsetsee Gun Peak (2,256 m), the highest point of the range, where we enjoy a picnic lunch with scenic views. After descending, we visit the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue for panoramic views, then continue to a nearby ger camp for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional felt-covered dweliingknown as ger.

Cycle to Khan Khenty wilderness area
We begin cycling and glimpse a nomadic way of life preserved for thousands of years. Ride across a vast valley, passing large herds of cattle, sheep, goats, and, of course, horses. In the afternoon, we climb to a wooded pass at 1,887 m, the gateway to the Khan Khenty wilderness and the southern edge of the Siberian mountain forest ecosystem. The challenging ascent is rewarded with sweeping views over the Siberian forest. A short vehicle transfer and rough descent then bring us to a riverside cabin lodge set among tall willows and forested mountains. In the evening, enjoy a campfire and listen to your guide share stories of Mongolia.

Cycle to the Terelj National Park
The depths of the Siberian wilderness are home to bears, wolves, lynx, and boar, as well as herbivores such as elk, deer, and many fur-bearing animals typical of boreal forests. While wildlife encounters are unlikely in the warmer months and along well-used trails, the sense of wilderness and its vast scale is unmistakable. Today, we cycle along a scenic riverside, crossing several knee-deep streams. After our final lunch in the wild, we load the bikes and transfer to Terelj National Park. Meaning “rhododendron,” this vast mountain basin is dotted with striking rock formations, often named after what they resemble. We settle into a camp set against a backdrop of dramatic rock scenery.
